Popular American TV shows:

Drama
Criminal Minds - a group of psychologists work to solve crimes together
Lie to Me - an expert in body language investigates crimes of all types
Heroes - people with special powers...very complicated series, but very entertaining, a little violent
LOST - a plane crash lands on a desert island. The show has 7 seasons with some crazy twists about why these people are there and what happens to them.
Merlin - British TV series of what the wizard Merlin and King Arthur would have been like as teenagers
Once Upon a Time - fairy tale and story book characters are under a curse and living in a small town in America. I recommend this series!

Dramas that are Funny
Bones - the world's smartest expert on ancient bones joins a policeman to solve murders
Castle - a crime novelist and a New York police officer work together to solve murder mysteries
Firefly - science fiction/space travel + Western cowboy style adventures = amazing show. Some of their slang is a little strange. Talk to Miss Morrow if you start watching this!
House - a strange doctor who cures patients with an unusual team of doctors at a research hospital

Comedy
Big Bang Theory - a bunch of nerdy science guys and their pretty, but not too smart, neighbor
Chuck - a computer worker accidentally downloads government secrets into his brain and is joined by two secret agents to capture international criminals
How I Met Your Mother - a group of young people in New York City looking for love.
The Office - a group of strange people work together in an office. Their boss is the strangest of all. VERY FUNNY (to Americans - not sure about Koreans?).
Scrubs - a group of medical interns work together in a hospital
